  1. I think you have done a wonderful job getting your project off the ground. One thing I have learned, while working with Blackboard, setting up a course always takes more time than you expect it to. Sometimes the vision in your mind's eye and the LMS's capabilities just don't match. That's when you have to take it to the next level and try to figure out how to make the LMS do what you want it to do. Just getting the teachers excited about using it next year is a major accomplishment. I'm in a 3rd-5th building and there are only two of us teachers using Blackboard. The Jing/screencast tutorials are a terrific idea. Another idea will be to create step-by-step tutorials with screen shots for the teachers who need the slower pace and the visuals.

  2. Your idea of doing the "how to" tips is a great one! You have been very persistent in working with your district and I hope they appreciate all the work you are doing at the new school. The reading program is a fantastic idea and will create a nice space to get the students and maybe even their parents, familiar with Moodle.

  3. Sue is right! It does take a lot longer to set up a course than expected. I am working on getting a moodle course set up and it has taken mote time than expected.

You may want to create a binder in your workroom at school with the printed tutorials in them so people know where to always get access to them.
